The Aysha Wind Power Project, in which XCMG XGC500-I crawler cranes participated, has a total installed capacity of 120MW, and currently has a power generation capacity of 40MW. After completion, it will provide sufficient power supply for the economic construction of the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Economic Corridor.
During the hoisting of XCMG crawler crane unit, the temperature reached 40 ℃. Severe winds with sand, plague of locusts, sparse vegetation, strong sand mobility, poor foundation conditions, all these bad natural conditions increase the difficulty of construction. XCMG XGC500-I uses large chassis design, which makes the whole machine more stable and has a small average grounding pressure. It can be applied to any terrain including swamps, mountains, deserts and hills.
On the site, after completing the hoisting of the tower, engine room and generator, XCMG XGC500-I slowly hoisted the assembled huge wind turbine, turned it over 90 degrees in the air, and then continued to lift it up to 80 meters, finally realizing the precise connection with the engine room. "Great, this is Chinese technology!" the on-site personnel were very excited.
Ethiopia regards new energy as an important strategy for national power development, and the wind farm will become the largest wind power base in Africa. Up to now, XCMG crawler crane has also participated in 97% of the wind power construction in the countries and regions along the Belt and Road, boosting the development of global green energy.
