On October 8, Tongyu County, Jilin Province, China
witnessed the successful installation of SI-2701150, a 15 MW onshore wind
turbine independently developed by SANY Renewable Energy (SANY
R. E.). This milestone project not only marks a new record for the world's
largest onshore wind turbine in terms of capacity and wheel diameter, but also
highlights SUNYNERG's outstanding strength in the field of wind power
technology.
The
SI-2701150 made its debut at the 2023 Wind Energy Exhibition as SANY's flagship
model based on the 12.X-16.X MW platform. With a design life of 25 to 30 years,
a rotor diameter of 270 metres, a blade length of 131 metres, and a maximum
swept area of 57,256 square metres, equivalent to the size of eight standard
football pitches, the 2701150 has a design life of 25 to 30 years, a rotor
diameter of 270 metres and a blade length of 131 metres. Such a large sweeping
area greatly enhances the efficiency of wind energy capture on land, enabling a
single unit to provide sufficient power for 160,000 households per year, making
it a ‘giant’ in the field of onshore wind power.
The
SI-2701150 is not only designed to meet international standards to ensure
reliability throughout its lifecycle, but also incorporates a number of
cutting-edge technologies. Its lightweight design and intelligent load-shedding
technology effectively reduce the overall load, facilitating long-distance land
transport. The transmission system adopts an integrated spindle support system
with double tapered roller bearings, ensuring high load carrying capacity and
stability. In addition, the use of dual transformer compartment technology
further reduces cable usage and land acquisition costs, making the product more
economical and efficient.
As
the first company in China to successfully develop a 15MW onshore wind turbine, SANY R. E. always puts safety and reliability in the
first place. The technical feasibility and long-term reliability of the turbine
is fully ensured through a large number of multi-level tests and verifications.
At the same time, SANY R. E. also makes use of test data to iteratively
optimise the design and improve the digital simulation model, so as to implant
the gene of ‘reliability’ into the product from the source. Currently, the 15MW
wind turbine prototype is undergoing more than a year's operation test at the
test wind farm, in order to comprehensively verify the reliability of the
components and the whole machine under real working conditions.
The
successful installation of the onshore 15MW wind turbine is not only another
major breakthrough for SANY Group in the megawatt-class field, but also an
important milestone in the development of large-scale wind turbines in China. In
the future, SANY R. E. will continue to drive scientific and technological
innovation with new productivity, dedicate itself to creating highly reliable
and adaptable intelligent units, and contribute more to the high-quality
development of the global wind power industry.
