Recently, SHANTUI's SR40-G heavy-duty single-drum vibratory roller was successfully delivered to a major mining enterprise in Tibet and has commenced operations at the local mining site. The project area operates at an altitude exceeding 5,300 meters, with winter temperatures plunging to -30°C, presenting a typical high-altitude, extreme-cold construction environment. This demands exceptionally high standards for equipment power performance, environmental adaptability, and operational reliability.
For years, this mining enterprise has conducted large-scale operations in plateau regions, where construction sites face multiple challenges including oxygen deficiency, intense ultraviolet radiation, and significant daily temperature fluctuations. Under these demanding conditions, the SR40-G has consistently ensured the construction of mining roads and infrastructure through its stable power output and reliable overall performance, providing robust support for high-altitude mining operations.
As the industry's largest-tonnage hydraulic dual-drive single-drum vibratory roller, the SR40-G features systematic optimizations for plateau and extreme cold environments. Equipped with a high-power engine and front-rear dual-drive configuration, it achieves a maximum gradeability of 45%. With an operating weight of 40 tons, a vibrating drum mass distribution of 25.2 tons, a compaction width of 2.4 meters, and an effective compaction depth exceeding 2 meters, it meets the demands of high-intensity, thick-layer mining construction.
Additionally, the machine employs shock-free vibrating drum technology, ensuring smooth and reliable vibration start/stop. It supports multi-speed vibration modes, flexibly adapting to diverse complex materials and working conditions. Even in extreme environments like low temperatures and low oxygen levels, the SR40-G maintains continuous, efficient operation, demonstrating its engineering adaptability in harsh conditions.
For operator experience, the SR40-G features a spacious cab with standard climate control and fresh air exchange systems, effectively countering high-altitude cold and thin air while reducing noise impact. The electronic control handle integrates functions like travel, braking, and vibration start/stop. Combined with a color display and equipment health management system, it enables real-time operational monitoring, fault alerts, and self-diagnostics, significantly reducing operator workload.
Additionally, the rearview imaging system and high-brightness LED lighting further enhance operational safety and construction efficiency in complex terrain and nighttime conditions.
Through comprehensive system optimization, the SR40-G achieves high compaction efficiency while effectively controlling overall fuel consumption. Maintenance features—including centralized filter placement, power-assisted hood opening, and externally routed oil/water drainage—significantly enhance routine inspection and servicing convenience, minimizing downtime and adapting to remote mining sites far from service networks.
The successful deployment of the SR40-G further strengthens SHANTUI's collaborative relationship with mining clients while fully demonstrating the company's technological prowess and systematic solution capabilities across the entire spectrum of mining construction equipment. Moving forward, SHANTUI will remain committed to technological R&D and product iteration for specialized environments like plateaus and frigid regions. Through smarter, more reliable engineering equipment, we will support national mineral resource development and major infrastructure projects, consistently demonstrating the engineering prowess and responsibility of “Made in China” in extreme conditions.
